The ALL NEW AVID Ascend GT
The next generation of touring tires, the All-New AVID Ascend GTâ„¢. Its asymmetric tread design and all-new TriBLEND compound technology deliver extraordinary handling and ride characteristics, including powerful braking on wet and snowy roads and a remarkably quiet ride.
Features & Benefits:
- Long Tread Life: Triple 3D sipes and ultra-square contact patch produce even, long wear that retains its all-season traction over the tire.
- All-Season Traction: Performance matters most on snowy roads so hundreds of 3D sipes and a notched block tread design produce more grip for true all-season traction.
- Wet Braking: All-new TriBlend compound ad an asymmetric groove arrangement that deliver extra grip on wet and snowy roads.
- Quieter Ride: A unique multi-pitch design varies the size of tread blocks around the tire to reduce road noise and create a quiet, comfortable ride.

| Comments: Great tires, have on both our Subarus. Great traction in both wet and snow combined with Subaru AWD is essential. On my 2nd set and will purchase for the other Subaru next.

| Comments: I am very impressed with this tire in the rain and the snow. I've pushed this tire in the rain and the hold is great. I just went through the 1st snow storm and they had excellent grip and control. On dry pavement, there is a little noise at highway speeds but nothing offensive. I am very happy with this tire and highly recommend it.

| Comments: Bought these for my Outback LMT based on decent ratings on Consumer Reports and others, including mention of quiet smooth ride despite an aggressive-looking tread pattern that might make it better in snow (though possibly worse on ice). they perform adequately overall, but the buzz/hum at moderate to high speeds was unacceptable for us. Imperceptible at lower speeds, at around 40 it becomes noticeable, and at 65 can be heard clearly over the radio, at a pitch reminiscent of snow tires with studs. I have driven these in substantial rain, and their deep channels do appear to be effective for maintaining grip, but I have not driven these on snow or ice; this comment form does not allow for NA, so my average ratings on those features are just fillers.
