Firestone’s participation in the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race represents one of the longest relationships in motor sports. When you combine all of the Indy 500 victories earned by Firestone at the Greatest Spectacle in Racing, you have rich tradition backed by a history of performance. The Firehawk INDY 500® is a Performance All-Season tire that was developed for the drivers of cars and light trucks that want to celebrate that tradition by combining Firehawk performance tires with the INDY 500 and “Wings and Wheel” logo of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The Firehawk INDY 500 with UNI-T uses Firestone’s WeatherGrip HP Tread Compound molded into an independent block tread pattern to enhance year-round traction. The tread pattern also uses Firestone’s “Power V” derived technology to further enhance wet traction. Internally, the Firehawk INDY 500 tire’s twin steel belts and polyester cord body deliver responsive handling and cornering stability along with a smooth ride. Additionally, a single strand of steel that is spirally wound is used to form beads that are rounder for a better fit to the wheel and to further enhance handling and ride quality.

Comments: simply one of the 2 finest all purpose street tires I have ever owned on 18 vehicles over 55 years and about 2 million miles of driving - mostly centered around NE Ohio - much to do with the blizzard of 2004. left Youngstown, Oh for Tampa, FL (1104 miles). from decent snow fall to heavy slush to glare ice to 8" deep snow in WVA n Va and back from Y-Town to south of Columbia, SC.. AVERAGED 63mph for the trip including gas/pit/food stops. not bad in a 2WD pickup and never driving over 75mph... yep, as a former pretty good amateur formula ford racer, I kinda have a clue how to drive, but having chosen a number of other big named tires for street use since 1968. only 4 stand out - over-sized Michelin radials on my new '68 Z-28. the iconic Armstrong Tru-Tracs on my new '72 Blazer, the Goodyear GT+4 's on Dad's '94 Pontiac Bonneville, and this tire. haha. got an arms-long list of garbage tires too :)

Comments: love the way they made my car handle in wet and dry. I am so glad I went to summer tires all season tires never again. especially when you have a performance vehicle. I do have snows in winter
