A Grand Touring All-Season tire designed for sports sedans, sports coupes and selected SUVs. The Bridgestone Turanza EL42 is was developed to blend some of the looks and handling of a performance tire with the low noise and ride comfort associated with a passenger tire, as well as provide year round traction, even in light snow.
Features a symmetric tread design with lateral and circumferential tread grooves aligned to evacuate water out from under the tire's footprint to enhance wet traction and reduce hydroplaning.
The rectangular tread blocks are siped to provide additional snow biting edges and are combined with an all-season tread compound to provide traction on dry, wet and light snow-covered roads.
Features twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped nylon to stabilize the tread area and enhance treadwear, handling and high-speed capability.
The Turanza EL42 features a polyester cord body to provide a smooth ride.
Run flat tires
The run flat property is given by a reinforced side wall that preserves the shape of the tire in case of pressure loss, thus preventing the tire from falling off the rim. That means that in case of a flat tire, it is possible to drive another 250 km running at 80 km/h. All run-flat tires have the RSC-symbol (Run Flat System Component) on the sidewall. Run-flat tires don't need any special rims, but are only functionable with cars that are equipped with a functioning air pressure control system.

Comments: While I have only driven a few miles on my new tires, these are the same tires that came on my car when I bought it new. I had over 45,000 miles on them. My only complaint is that they ride a little rough and are a little bit noisy, but something clearly draws me towards these tires considering this is my second go-around with them.
